The U.S. is edging closer each day to sending humans to Mars.
“Our journey into space will not only make us stronger and more prosperous, but will unite us behind grand ambitions and bring us all closer together,” President Trump said June 30.
The president made the comments after signing an order bringing back the National Space Council, an advisory panel that may help lead astronauts to Mars.
Vice President Mike Pence laid out the administration’s ambitions for the U.S. space agency, NASA, this way: “Our nation will return to the Moon, and we will put American boots on the face of Mars.”
